Get an AI-generated summary of a conversation. Useful for catching up on long chats. Works on WhatsApp chats and on Spun Chat threads (direct messages and groups) alike - open the thread's info panel and use Chat Summary there. You can also ask a specific question about the thread instead of taking the standing summary, choose how many recent messages to read, pick the summary language, and preview exactly what is sent to the AI with PII redacted. A summary refreshes itself automatically in the background once it goes stale, keeping the previous text visible while it updates. If the read window contains voice messages that have no transcript yet, the summary discloses how many were skipped and, on WhatsApp chats, offers to transcribe them on demand before re-summarizing. From the same panel you can also ask AI to suggest tasks drawn from the conversation. On a Spun Chat thread only its members can generate or read the summary, and an internal thread is never turned into org-wide suggested knowledge.

How to use

  1. Open any chat.
  2. Click the AI icon in the chat header.
  3. Select "Summarize conversation".
  4. Read the summary; it auto-refreshes in the background when stale, and updates automatically on first open.
  5. If it flags skipped voice messages, click "Transcribe them now" to fill them in and refresh the summary. For a Spun Chat thread, open the info panel on the right and use the Chat Summary section. Use "Suggest tasks" in the same panel to turn the conversation into task suggestions.
